I can barely wait! Gibson is one of my favourite writers. I’ve read most of his work, even the unproduced screenplays! 😉 I think I’ll get it in hardcover, as it would be lovely to have that signed.
I had a chance to meet William Gibson in a book store in Vancouver several years ago. That was interesting. We talked a little about sci-fi and writing. Then, a bit about Macs.

So, I went to the Iggy and the Stooges show in downtown Toronto a couple weeks or so ago and shot some video. It was very crowded, much more than I expected, for the free show that was part of NXNE. A hot summer night. It was neat seeing Iggy and hearing them rock downtown! I could hear the music blocks away from the stage, as it was reverberating off the buildings, in the concrete canyons. Iggy and the Stooges are living legends. I’m glad I got to experience some of their music first hand. Iggy is an inspiration to be still doing his thing at 63! He doesn’t look it, doesn’t move like his age, or sound like it.
People were wandering all over the place during the show. A girl, maybe early twenties came up to me. She didn’t have any shoes on and her feet were getting dirty. She didn’t seem wasted, but was a bit perturbed. She said she had lost her boyfriend and her shoes, and that she was from out of town. I helped her to try and figure out where she was staying, as she didn’t know which way to go, and gave her directions as best I could. I felt bad for her after she had left on her way, walking bare footed on the city streets, through the massive crowd and thumping music. I wish I had done more for her.

Why would anyone have hope that 13 XDAY would be any different and we wouldn’t be let down again? Because Bob said so, that’s why.
13 XDAY or XIII XDAY was on July 5th, 2010 and guess what? What happened?
NOTHING!! The world is still here and no UFO saviors, as Bob promised!! No SEX GODDESSES!!! WTF?
But, rejoice! Ye, the workings of Bob are strange and mysterious! There is no need for upset! Bob is a fickle one, and X-DAY will come to pass one…XDAY soon. As the living avatar of slack, can we expect anything less from Bob?

Very hot today and the power went out! Glad it was only off for a couple of hours. So, before I had to move all frozen items in the freezer to a working friend’s freezer in another area that had power, the power came back on! Reminded me of being in Mexico today – walking outside and getting hit with a wall of hot, damp air. 90F in the shade today!
The full moon occurs this Saturday, June 26 at 11:31 a.m. EST, and the lunar eclipse happens this Saturday, June 26 at about 7:30 a.m. EST (if my calculations are correct!). We won’t see much of the eclipse in the eastern part of Canada where I am, but its influence is sure to be felt!

Today is the first day of Summer…the Summer Solstice – the Sun at the height of its power for the year (in the northern hemisphere).
What’s the Summer Solstice? For those who don’t know, today is the day with the longest time of daylight: the longest day of the year! Today is the day when the sun is the highest in the sky, in the northern hemisphere. In the southern hemisphere, welcome Winter!
From here on in, the days are getting shorter for us northerners, while you southerners will notice your days getting longer.

36 Dutch women dressed in orange mini-dresses attended the FIFA Netherlands-Denmark game in Johannesburg and caused quite a stir. That’s a pretty novel idea and very easy on the eyes, so what’s the issue? It seems they were part of a marketing campaign for a Dutch beer company – Bavaria. This “free” form of marketing that has been dubbed “ambush marketing.” The two organizers of the stunt were arrested.
But, the last thing that comes to my mind is having anyone arrested! It’s a strange world at times…! See the videos below. Fun!

Check out this video of existing, proven technology. Microbes that eat oil can clear large oil spills in a matter of weeks, including not only oil still in the water, but oil that has settled on land.
A few years ago, actor Kevin Costner and his scientist brother perfected a centrifugal “vacuum cleaner” device that can purify the water from oil spills. Their technology has already been used in an oil spill in Japan. Coster spent $24 million of his own money on the venture. They are working to get permission to use their devices right now in the Gulf.
Let’s hope this works!
Latest News: They have sold 32 of their oil recovery machines to BP to that will clean and recycle 6 million gallons of water a day! The machines will be deployed in the Gulf as soon as they can get them made!
